MFA Summer Awards 2024 Announcement
The College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to offer a program to Master of Fine Arts Students in the College. This program is designed to offer additional support to students in a terminal degree MFA program. These awards are expected to be highly competitive, with a faculty review committee selecting the awardees. Key selection criteria will rely on the quality of the proposed scholarly work and the student’s achievement record.
Dean’s Summer MFA Fellowship Award: $5,000
This fellowship provides funding for Master of Fine Arts Students to pursue creative thesis projects during the Summer 2024. Funds may be used as salary support or to cover direct costs for scholarly and creative activities. Expenditures must be incurred during the period May 15 to August 15, 2024. The number of awards will depend on available funding, but a minimum of two awards is anticipated.

- Proposal Description (limited to 1500 words)
- List of publications, presentations, shows, exhibitions or other scholarly and creative work (please do not include any work in preparation)
- Unofficial Student Transcript
- Supporting letter from Research Advisor (to be emailed from advisor directly to: Apply.MFASummer@miami.edu )
- Endorsement letter from Director of Graduate Studies (to be emailed from the DGS directly to: Apply.MFASummer@miami.edu )
- Provide an approximate budget
