Whether it is the Beyond the Book Undergraduate research program which provides summer research opportunities; or the Washington Center which gives civic minded students a first-hand look at the inner workings of the federal government; or the MFA Program which ranks among the top five dramatic arts programs in the country, a gift to the College enables us to maintain the highest quality of academic programs and research opportunities for all students.

The College of Arts and Science’s faculty is comprised of world-class leaders, inspirational teachers, prolific researchers, engaging lecturers, and dedicated mentors. Our esteemed faculty creates and sustains our strong academic programs, attracts world-class students, and will help bring the University of Miami to AAU acclaim. Essentially, our outstanding faculty members are the very heart and soul of the University.

Faculty support will enable the College to maintain its competitive edge and provide our students with a richer curricular experiences. The College seeks support for endowed chairs, professorships, and research funds to assist in recruiting and retaining the world's most exciting scholars, artist and researchers.

Scholarships

A scholarship gift is an investment in a person’s future, enabling talented and deserving recipients to gain the distinctive, lifelong benefit of a University of Miami education. By making the promise of a world-class education a reality, regardless of social and economic background, scholarships open doors to a brighter future for hundreds of Arts & Sciences’ students every year. Increased resources for undergraduate scholarships will also enhance the College of Arts & Sciences’ ability to compete with the nation’s premier institution for highly talented students.  

Graduate Fellowships

Representing the scientific and academic leaders of tomorrow, graduate students are a key element of the intellectual capital that drives the College’s excellence. Investment in graduate students is vital to enabling the College to continue to attract emerging scholars who will help shape the field and set the intellectual agenda for years to come. Endowments for graduate fellowships, and assistantships, and other formalized training programs are key to their academic success.

Departmental, Program and Center Support

You can support the department, program or Center of your choice. All depend on your support for a variety of initiatives, including research, scholarly speaker series, outreach programming and scholar-in-residence programs, conferences, and workshops. Funds in support of these areas can also be used for student travel to conferences, field research, and seed funding costs for major initiatives.

Facilities and Technology 

World-class facilities, state-of-the-art laboratories and galleries, innovative classrooms, and modern, open study spaces are all critical for outstanding teaching, research, and recruitment of top faculty and students.  From new lab facilities in the sciences to new and improved theatre and studio space in the arts, it is critical for the College to provide the best possible technologies for education and research. This not only includes new that allow for the pursuit of knowledge, but also to equip historical buildings for new ways of teaching and learning.

Dean’s Fund

Gifts to the College’s annual fund allow the Dean to respond quickly to needs as they arise. Unrestricted funds can mean the difference between a missed opportunity and a breakthrough discovery, and provide opportunities for enhanced student learning. By making an unrestricted gift, you enable the College to take full advantage of opportunities across the campus and the classrooms. These opportunities include guest speakers and lecturers, student and/or faculty travel for educational conferences, (something else), and other projects as needed.
