Degree candidates in the College of Arts and Sciences who matriculate under Bulletin 2015/2016 and forward must complete at least four writing courses, and at least one such course must be in the student's major discipline (not applicable to BLA students who do not select a major). Students should consult the bulletin section of their major to find out which writing courses are acceptable to the discipline. Transfer students may use a maximum of two transfer courses towards the requirement. The following table lists the courses that have approval as writing courses. These courses, and only these courses, can be used to fulfil the Writing & Communication proficiency requirement. This table will be updated regularly with further courses, as they are approved.
