Smokey Joe’s Cafe
The Songs of Lieber and Stoller

Words and Music by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller

Lieber and Stoller virtually invented rock 'n' roll and this 1995 Broadway hit celebrates their pivotal role in launching a golden age of American culture. The classic themes of love won, lost and imagined, dovetail with humorous set pieces and slice-of-life cameos. Featuring such unforgettable standards as On Broadway, Love Potion #9, Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, Spanish Harlem, Fools Fall In Love, and nearly 40 other classic rhythm-and-blues and rock-and-roll hits, Smokey Joe’s Café isn’t just great pop music – it’s compelling musical theatre! “Who can listen to these classic rock tunes from the '50s, '60s and '70s without being taken back to what seems in retrospect a simpler, wittier, more joyous musical time?” — Pittsburgh Post Gazette

Hamlet

By William Shakespeare

Arguably the greatest play ever written, Hamlet is a riveting theatrical ghost story for Halloween. The King of Denmark is dead. The Kingdom is on the brink of ruin. The haunted young Prince is driven to the edge of madness in his obsession to avenge his ghostly father’s death and save the nation. A postmodern thunderbolt telling of Shakespeare's thrilling tale travels a twisting route through the heart of darkness, and almost no one comes out the other side.

Almost, Maine

By John Cariani

On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend – almost – in playwright Cariani’s magical and delightful midwinter night’s dream. "A snowy charmer…These nine tales of love in the time of frostbite have a winning glow that proves surprisingly contagious." — NY Sun

Baby With The Bathwater

By Christopher Durang

This bitingly satiric dark comedy about the pitfalls of parenthood is both insanely provocative and wickedly funny. Durang – one of the American theatre's most outrageous and inventive writers – looks at how difficult it is to be a parent…and how scary it can be to be a child. Baby With The Bathwater is a hilarious comedy that will make you laugh and gasp at the same time! "…Durang conquers bitterness and finds a way to turn rage into comedy that is redemptive as well as funny.” — NY Times

(In rotating repertory with Almost, Maine)

Some Enchanted Evening – The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein

Concept by Jeffrey B. Moss for Jerry Kravat Entertainment Services, Inc. Vocal arrangements by Larry Hochman and Phil Hall.

In such Broadway classics as The Sound of Music, Carousel, South Pacific, and Oklahoma, the legendary songwriting team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II forever changed the landscape of the American musical theatre. Some Enchanted Evening -- a creative revue of some of their best and most beloved songs -- powerfully demonstrates how the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein has become such an enduring part of our everyday lives.  Some of the numerous songs showcased in this infectiously happy revue are “Some Enchanted Evening,” “Hello, Young Lovers,” “People Will Say We’re In Love,” “Younger Than Springtime,” “Shall We Dance,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out-A My Hair,” “There is Nothing Like A Dame,” and “Sixteen Going On Seventeen.” This concert version of their music will be presented in Gusman Concert Hall adjacent to the Jerry Herman Ring Theatre.
"Once you have found it, never let it go! A fiery, cheeky evening of pure theatre...a show for all seasons, filled with love." -- WDVM- TV
