  • Shedrick Boren (PhD Medical)

    Shed Boren is currently working on his PhD dissertation: Ignoring Ambiguity: Legitimating Clinical Decisions under the guidance of Professor John Murphy, PhD and Linda Belgrave, PhD in addition to Stephen Sapp, Professor, Religious Studies and Gerard Magill, PhD, Professor, Health Care Ethics, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. The qualitative analysis, scheduled for completion in Fall 2008, reviews the evolution of American Healthcare Ethics Committees (HEC) with a focus on the decision-making process. Shed works as a social worker in addition to his role as the Administrator / CEO of Sister Emmanuel Hospital, a long-term acute care hospital. His areas of interests are varied, and his professional experiences include over 15 years working with HIV+ individuals. Shed holds a BA from Southwestern University (1987), a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston (1989), an MBA from the University of Miami (1995) and a certificate in healthcare ethics from Saint Louis University (2006).
