- Apr. 24 – Dr. Merike Blofield publishes new book: Care Work and Class: Domestic Workers' Struggle for Equal Rights in Latin America.
(View more information) - Apr. 6 – Political science and international studies junior Andrew Szarejko has been awarded the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS). Szarejko will use the scholarship to continue his studies in Turkish. (View Story)
- Apr. 5 – Dr. Arthur Simon has been profiled in the Hurricane as one of UM students' favorite professors. (View Story)
- Feb. 20 – A Presidents' Day to Remember
On a Presidents' Day the students will never forget, former President Bill Clinton — whose administration was responsible for a number of health care achievements, from the Family and Medical Leave Act to dramatic improvements in public health — replaced Shalala as teacher for a day, lecturing to her students on a variety of health care-related issues.
