Our political science department is thankful for alumni contributions that directly benefit student enrichment. Your gifts allow the department to fund and help maintain a strong academic experience for our students. We currently have one available fund for gifts.
Congressman Joe Garcia visits the Immigration Reform class
The fund is used to benefit our undergraduate students eager to participate in the discipline and advance their practical experience outside of the classroom. This primarily consists of three areas of focus:
Research: Fall, spring, and summer funding for undergraduate students wishing to conduct research with faculty member guidance. Many students want to receive these positions, but funding for research is limited.
Travel: Students who have conducted and follow research as it is made often wish to travel to political science conferences and meetings, to speak with scholars about their research and to present their own.
Speakers: Funding helps us to bring high-quality speakers on campus to speak to students. We have been able to bring several political, journalistic, and academic individuals of note for recent classes, and want to be able to provide the same service to current and future students.
