About Me
I am Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Miami. My main areas of interest are Metaphysics and Epistemology. My last book, Epistemic Dimensions of Personhood, dealt with the ways in which what it is to be a person has specifically epistemological consequences. I am currently engaged in writing a book, provisionally entitled Making Objects and Events: A Neo-Aristotelian Approach, presenting a unified hylomorphic treatment of objects and actions.
Besides my CV, links to some papers, and a fuller description of my current research, you can find on these pages some musical compositions from an earlier phase of my existence, extensive material on how Couperin's piece "Les Barricades Mystérieuses" has been used by other creative artists, some translations of songs by the Italian singer-songwriter Fabrizio de Andrè, and a translation of the philosophically interesting sonnet "S'i fosse foco" by Cecco Angiolieri.
