Teaching Reading -- Overview
Composing Inquiry includes readings that can be used to model how
researchers pose questions, investigate issues and present their findings in
written form.
This section provides resources for three different kinds of reading
instruction. Though we use specific readings as examples, these strategies and
activities can be adapted to any of the readings or assignments.
Reading to Comprehend: helping
students read more purposefully and develop strategies for reading difficult
material more confidently
Reading as a Researcher:
using the readings to teach and re-enforce the methods of research
Reading as a Writer:
understanding how writers present their work on the page
