Research Interests
I'm an anthropological linguist interested in a variety of phenomena. For instance, I am investigating aspects of grammatical relations and how they are shaped. Also, I'm interested in unusual sound patterns and ways in which we can document sounds more effectively through acoustic phonetics. Finally, I'm particularly interested in the linguistic relativity hypothesis in the form currently being explored by psychologists, anthropologists, and linguists.
Here are a few sample articles related to each of these areas of interest:
Recent and forthcoming research of mine includes work in Studies in Language, Anthropological Linguistics, IJAL, LD&C, as well as the proceedings of the Berkeley Linguistic Society and the Chicago Linguistic society (inter alia)
