UM Stanford Distinguished Professor receives National Book Critics Circle Award

Edwidge Danticat, Henry King Stanford Distinguished Professor in the Humanities has won the National Book Critics Circle Award in the autobiography category for her book, Brother, I’m Dying. The National Book Critics Circle is an organization of active book reviewers who give awards in five categories annually, including best fiction, general nonfiction, biography/autobiography, poetry and criticism. Ms. Danticat gave a public lecture on Monday, March 3 as part of the Stanford Chair lecture series, and is currently teaching a Graduate Fiction Writing Workshop in the English Department.
