New Faculty Join A&S


The College of Arts & Sciences welcomed new faculty for the 2009-2010 academic year. They will teach a range of classes and bring their expertise in their respected areas of study.

The new faculty members join more than 400 distinguished and full-time faculty.
Here are the new professors and assistant professors, and a sampling of the classes they are teaching:

  • Drew Armstrong, assistant professor, mathematics: “Introduction to Linear Algebra” & “Discrete Math”
  • Susan Braswell, assistant professor, modern languages & literature: “Introduction to Latin” & “Capstone in French”
  • Brian Doss, assistant professor, psychology: “Close Relationships”
  • Jennifer Ferriss Hill, assistant professor, classics: “Introduction to Latin” Intermediate Latin "Latin Poets"
  • Stephen Halsey, assistant professor, history: "History: Imperial China, Studies in Asian History"
  • Amanda Jensen-Doss, assistant professor: Psychology, “Child Psychology
  • Christopher Mann, assistant professor: political science, “Introduction to American National Government” & “Campaigns”
  • James Nickels, professor, philosophy: “Law and Morality”
  • Frank Samson, assistant professor: “Introduction to sociology“
