CAS Gallery showing new work by 2009 Master's candidates
The CAS Gallery is presenting its first exhibition of the academic year, “Master of Fine Arts Incoming Student Exhibition 2009.” The exhibit began August 30th and is on display through September 16, 2009.
Kreos Aetos by Kourtney BrownHosted by The Department of Art and Art History, the exhibit features ceramics, glass, graphic design, painting, photography and sculpture created by graduate students who are entering UM’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program this year. The event is free and open to the public. An opening reception was held on Aug. 28.
The 2009 MFA students are: Kourtney Brown, Jose Cabrera, Clark F. DeCapite, Jr.,Martin Casuso, Susan Chaudhry,Yusmary Cortez,Thomas Engleman, Jackie Gopie, Joan Hacker and Ralph Provisero.
Located at 1210 Stanford Drive, on UM’s Coral Gables campus, the CAS Gallery was opened in 2002 in the Wesley Foundation Building. With 2200-square-feet of floor space, 164 feet of running wall, and 16-foot ceilings, the gallery has ample room to host a variety of events and exhibitions. The venue is named CAS Gallery, because it is also used as a conference center for the College of Arts and Sciences.
