BIO

Arthur M. Simon holds business and law degrees from the University of Miami, a master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Ph.D. in public administration from Florida State University. 

His resume includes professional experience as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, an appellate attorney in Miami, a senior manager in the Florida Department of Banking and Finance, and a lobbyist for Associated Industries of Florida.  In addition he served 12 years in the Florida House of Representatives – representing the West Kendall area of Miami-Dade County.

Dr. Simon was signaled out and honored by the Association of Greek Letter Organizations as UM’s most “outstanding faculty member” in the 2011-2012 academic year; and more recently, in 2014, he was recognized by the Office of Academic Enhancement “for extraordinary commitment to scholar excellence”.
