Dr. Eugene Clasby Stepping Down as MALS Director

After twenty-five years of creating, nurturing, and honing the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program, Dr. Eugene Clasby has stepped down as the Director, effective August 14, 2016.

He will continue to teach both English and MALS classes, be a contributing member of the MALS Advisory Committee, while also working on current and future writing projects. Dr. Clasby can still be contacted at any time via e-mail at

Daniel Pals, Ph.D.  will be the new MALS director.
Professor of Religious Studies (joint appointment in History). Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences 2000-2002. Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences, 1997-2000.
