Master of Arts in Latin American Studies and Journalism
Admissions
MA Admission is granted only for fall semesters. We are currently accepting applications for admission August 2010. The deadline for this program is March 1, 2010. Please indicate in the application form that you are interested in the joint MA degrees in Journalism and Latin American Studies. Admission to the Joint MA Degrees in Journalism and Latin American Studies requires successful completion of undergraduate coursework in any discipline related to communication or Latin America and Caribbean Studies, undergraduate studies in Spanish, Portuguese, French or Creole, a minimum score of 1000 on the Graduate Record Examination (we require only the general test), three letters of recommendation from persons qualified to judge the applicant's potential for graduate work (normally former or current teachers), undergraduate transcripts, and a statement of purpose. The statement should include your purpose in graduate study, the area and questions in which you are interested, your special preparation for study, and your future career goals. Your application will be evaluated by both the MA in Latin American Studies and the MA in Journalism graduate admissions committee.
