Juan Larrain, former Chilean Ambassador to the United Nations. Also served at the Chilean Embassies in Washington, London, Lima and Bogota and the Mission to the Organization of American States. At the Foreign Ministry he was Director of Economic and Multilateral Affairs and Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy. Appointed by the Secretary General and the Security Council to lead a team to enforce the sanctions against UNITA and to work for the peace in Angola and later served as Senior Adviser to the Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee. He has a Bachelor degree in Mathematics,  a degree in Political and Administrative Sciences from the University of Chile and also graduated from the Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy.
