The Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science and the Abess Center for Ecosystem Science & Policy offer a powerful combination of classroom and extensive hands-on, field-based courses for this one-year professional master’s degree. The Exploration Science program is one of the tracks in the larger Master of Professional Science (MPS) program.

The Exploration Science track is administered jointly by the Abess Center and the MPS program at RSMAS to provide a multi-discipline experience using expertise found across the entire University of Miami.  The Exploration Science track comprises 30 credit hours and can be completed in 12 to 15 months.  There is a 6 credit internship that is part of the program.   Students apply to the MPS program and choose the Exploration Science track in the application.
