New Students Join the Exploration Science Program
A new semester is upon us, and four new Exploration Science students are joining the program as it enters the second full year. These four join the first two students who are in the middle of the program. The first student slated to graduate this coming December. The four students are taking classes full time. These include Citizen and Participatory Science, Ethics and Risk in Exploration, Exploration Technology and Media and Scientific Diving. Along with these courses, the students will take electives aligned with their specific interests. After courses, the students will do three to six month internships before graduating. The first student is currently in the middle of an internship in the Dry Tortugas National Park, studying how field operations and research is carried out in a remote, tropical environment. Congratulations to all of these students and welcome aboard to the new crew!
