Journal of Democracy Publishes Article by CLAS Affiliated Faculty

Dr. Merike Blofield, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Project Director for the Observatory on Inequality in Latin America housed by the Center for Latin American Studies, was recently approached by the Journal of Democracy to submit an article to be printed in its annual Spanish edition.

The Journal of Democracy was founded in 1990, and it is an influential journal which focuses on analyzing democratic regimes and movements around the world. Its Spanish version is published by the National Endowment for Democracy and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The Journal will feature the article "Desigualdad y Política en América Latina" based on Dr. Blofield's research at the Observatory on Inequality in Latin America from 2007 to 2009, financed by the Ford Foundation. Its most recent issue, "Autoritarismo Competitivo," also features three other commissioned articles. To access the Journal online go to:
