Dwight A. McBride, Leon Forrest Professor of African American Studies and Professor of English and Communication Studies at Northwestern University, is the author of Impossible Witnesses: Truth, Aboilitionism, and Slave Testimony (2001) and Why I Hate Abercrombie and Fitch: Essays on Race and Sexuality (2005) and editor of James Baldwin Now (1999); Black Like Us: A Century of Lesbian, Gay, and Bi-Sexual Fiction (2002); and The Melvin Dixon Critical Reader (2006).
