Ariel Armony holds the position of Katz Distinguished Teaching Professor of Government at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He has directed the Latin American Studies program and the Goldfarb Center for Public Affairs & Civic Engagement at Colby. His major books, including "Dubious Link: Civic Engagement and Democratization (Stanford 2004)and "Argentina, the United States, and the Anti-Communist Crusade in Latin America" (Ohio State 1997), focus on important linkages between events and actors drawing from cases in Germany and the US as well as Central and South America. His upcoming book, "Back Door to the Possible: The Social Innovation Boom" provides the first systematic, comprehensive and global discussion of the field of social innovation.
