Elsayed M. Zahran, Ph. D.

Dr. Zahran is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Miami. He received B.S. degree in Chemistry with Honor rank from Menofia University and M. S. of Analytical Chemistry from Zaghazig University, both in Egypt. Then, he moved to US to obtain his Ph. D. from the University of Kentucky, 2011. Right after, he joined Dr. Bachas' research group as a Post-Doctoral Associate. Dr. Zahran's research focuses on the development of novel nanostructured materials with unique architectures that provide high surface area to volume ratio and sustainable high catalytic activity. These materials demonstrate applications in producing clean fuel from renewable resources, degradation of environmental contaminants, and development of analytical sensors.
