A minor in American Studies consists of at least 15 credits in American Studies courses (core, co-listed, or cross-listed) with a grade of C- or better in each course, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in AMS courses. These credits must include at least 9 at the 300 level or above. All minors must complete:

  • AMS 101: Introduction to American Studies
  • AMS 310: The United States in the World
  • at least one other AMS core course
  • at least one course in American history or American literature
