Giving to the College of Arts and Sciences

College of Arts and Sciences alumni enable us to offer scholarships and fellowships to students, recruit world-class faculty, and develop innovative programs, such as our new “Beyond the Book” program, which gives small grants to select students who wish to engage in academic projects outside of the classroom. In 2006, alumni contributions to the Annual Fund increased 45 percent. As a result, the college was able to fund a history lecture series, field trips for students in the Department of International Studies, and a VIP guest director for theater productions, among other activities. With the help of alumni, the college has achieved unparalleled excellence. Imagine what it could to do with even greater support.

Why Give?

From the Bunsen burners you used in general chemistry class to the computers and headphones you used in the language laboratory, many of the College of Arts and Sciences’ educational tools are paid for by alumni. These generous people made it possible for you to receive a high-quality education. Now it’s your turn to help the generations of students who follow in your footsteps.

Ways to Give

Outright Gifts

Outright gifts, including cash, securities and other property, provide the College of Arts and Sciences with the financial assistance to meet its most pressing needs. Cash gifts are often used to purchase items, such as computers, art supplies and laboratory equipment, while gifts of property, such as plasma television screens, are another way to make an immediate impact.
