Welcome to the University of Miami! The College of Arts and Sciences has a dedicated Transfer Advisor to assist new, incoming transfer students transition to the University. We meet incoming, admitted transfer students interested in an Arts and Sciences major after they have indicated a commitment to attend the University of Miami by sending in their enrollment deposit fee.

Academic Services is available to guide you through your first semester at UM- understanding UM requirements and how your transfer work applies, choosing courses that will help you continue to make progress on your degree, planning your graduation timeline, making connections on campus and getting to know all of the wonderful resources available to you. We will help you to identify and begin to work with an advisor in your major after our first semester together, although we're always here for questions throughout the remainder of your time at UM.

Info for Prospective Students

For all of our prospective transfer students, we are pleased that you are considering the University of Miami!  The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic unit, offering 40 major and 46 minor concentrations of study. One of the great advantages of the University of Miami, and the College, is that while we are large enough to offer a variety of majors and minors, allowing you to tailor your studies, you will always feel part of a close and friendly atmosphere where everyone is made to feel at home and supported while finding their unique path. As a transfer student, you will have special services available to you to make sure that you are working steadily toward graduation and getting to know faculty and other students. We are here to help you understand and utilize those services!

If you are a prospective student, you should contact the Office of Admission with any questions about application procedures to get started so you can be admitted and we can then meet to plan your studies.

You should also note that the Office of Admission sponsors three open houses yearly. Students who have indicated an interest in the University of Miami are invited. Our advisors attend all of these open houses and are available to answer any questions you may have. The Office of Admission can provide any upcoming dates for you.
