The College of Arts and Sciences offers prelaw advising, a unique service for currently enrolled A&S prelaw students. This service complements the academic advising students receive in the department of their major. Arts and Sciences' Prelaw Advising is located in Ashe200. Prelaw students must register with our prelaw advisor in order to be added to the prelaw list-serv for current announcements of upcoming workshops and events, such as the Annual LSAC Miami Law Forum.

Selecting a law school needs to be a well thought-out and researched decision. In selecting a law school, students should examine their individual priorities and consider the following factors: Where can I get accepted? How much will it cost? What is the location? What is the size of the law school? What is the reputation of the law school? What special programs are offered? What joint degree programs are offered? What are the job opportunities when I graduate? These, along with a host of other considerations, are important factors that will ultimately determine which law school you will attend.

For answers to these and many more questions that you will have as a prelaw student, schedule an appointment to meet with a prelaw advisor (listed below) in your respective School/College. They are available to assist you throughout the year. The A&S Prelaw Office houses the Prelaw Resource Library, available to all enrolled A&S prelaw students.

The Prelaw Handbook is a valuable tool that guides you through the law school application process and may be viewed by accessing:
