Welcome to the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Miami Web site where you will find information about our degree programs, outstanding faculty, upcoming events and news about the College.  We offer a wide range of choices comparable to a much larger university with all the advantages of attending a small-mid size school. Students can choose from a variety of different majors and minors, interdisciplinary programs, and numerous dual degree programs in traditional and emerging areas of study. We have several hundred full-time faculty members who conduct pioneering research and are dedicated to excellence in teaching.  Students at the College of Arts & Sciences gain a breadth of knowledge by exploring topics ranging from fundamental questions to interdisciplinary studies to recent trends in globalization.

Central to our educational philosophy is the empowerment of students to excel in their chosen careers and become professionals ready to compete in the global market.  A liberal arts education develops essential professional skills including effective written and oral communication, creative problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills. At the College of Arts & Sciences, all interested undergraduate students have the opportunity to participate in faculty research and scholarship which provides a robust educational experience. The College offers strong graduate programs in most departments.
