Climate Survey
The goal of our climate survey, based with permission on the survey used at the University of Michigan, is to observe how women and men scientists and engineers experience their working environments. The quantitative date is now complete, and is being supplemented by individual interviews and focus groups during Fall 2010 to further identify common threads and special issues. Analysis for publication, which is currently underway, is the purview of two graduate students, Hilary Cook and Aaran Puhrman, mentored by Professor and Chair of Sociology Robert Johnson. The survey is designed to provide a baseline measure of climate and to suggest where UM excels and where specific programs need to be applied.
