SEEDS You Choose Award Presents: Academic Skills Workshop
The Academic Skills Workshop will take place on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 12:00PM - 5:00PM in the UMH Seminar Conference Room on the Medical Campus. This workshop will focus on three aspects intertwined in the academic career: negotiation, communication skills and mentoring. The forum will examine the professional needs of minorities along with existing challenges, and will discuss strategies to foster networking and mentoring opportunities. The workshop will be interactive, with group discussions and question and answering opportunities. A dynamic panel of successful female faculty from University of Miami, University of Florida and Harvard University will lead the discussion. Please RSVP by Friday, April 20, 2012. The forum is limited to 50 participants and is open to faculty and trainees form the Department of Medicine. This event is sponsored by a SEEDS You Choose Award to Dr. Cynthia Levy.
